Thomas Mayes Lewin opened the first T.M.LEWIN store in Jermyn Street, London in 1898. Mr Lewin was a pioneer in the shirt industry, responsible for creating the first button down ‘coat-shirt’, a prototype of all modern shirts that exist today.
