Thomas Mayes Lewin opened the first T.M.Lewin store in Jermyn Street, London in 1898. Mr Lewin was a pioneer in the shirt industry, responsible for creating the first button down ‘coat-shirt’, a prototype of all modern shirts that exist today. Since 1898, we have also sold over 30 million of our iconic T.M.Lewin ‘original’ easy-to-iron shirts, which makes them Britain’s favourite shirts. T.M.Lewin has grown and changed over time, but our craftsmanship, quality, service and value has not faltered and remains the core driving force behind our brand.

The Royal Oxford casual shirt is in a dark navy shade with a subtly lustrous appearance. This plain shirt has been trimmed with a tonal navy gingham on the internal collar and cuffs for extra detail, especially when worn without a tie. Woven using a two-ply yarn, royal oxford creates a slight basketweave texture to the fabric and with an easy to iron finish, makes for the perfect wardrobe staple. Details include a button-down collar, single cuffs and a chest pocket. The navy buttons have been dyed to match the cotton and have tonal thread. Lightweight and naturally breathable, it is an excellent choice for warmer spring days. Team it with oatmeal or sea green chinos for a laid-back weekend look, and slip on a blazer for a networking event.
